The Catch-and-Hold Belay

Climbers activate the Catch-and-Hold belay by pressing the dedicated TRUBLUE button at the bottom of the wall before beginning their ascent.

When the climber falls or chooses to stop, the TRUBLUE iQ+ will immediately catch and hold the climber in place for up to 30 seconds. During this window, the climber can rest, project the route, and proceed upward at any time. Now, everyone from novices to experts can experience the satisfaction of making it to the top.

Once at the summit, the climber disengages the Catch-and-Hold belay by pressing a secondary TRUBLUE button, allowing for a safe, continuous descent without pause.

What is the TRUBLUE Catch-and-Hold feature?

The catch-and-hold feature (often called a "take" function) allows the auto belay to hold a climber statically in place for up to 30 seconds if they fall or choose to rest. This allows climbers to recuperate mid-route, project difficult sections, and resume their climb without being immediately lowered to the ground.

What is the maximum weight capacity for the iQ+?

The TRUBLUE iQ+ has a rated working capacity of 10kg to 150kg (22lbs to 330lbs). The friction-free magnetic braking system automatically adjusts to provide a smooth, consistent descent across this entire weight range.
